Well hello there, Gloomy! Glad to see you were able to stay awake long enough for our photo session this morning! This little darling is a commission for
and she has been long in coming. I had bad luck with her from the get go.
First I painted her eyes too dark and while her owner said they were fine I was not pleased. So I redid them.
Then I ordered hair, got halfway through her head and realized the color was way off.
Then I ordered more hair which still isn't perfect but it's the closest I could get, and got to work.
I think she commissioned me over a month ago (two weeks each for hair to come in. UGH!) and was wonderful, lovely, and so very patient with all my screwups. During that time Gloomy and Fizzy Pop (who has been in process for some time now) seemed to have formed a friendship, so Fizzy will be sad to see her leave.
Now for the details! She was a Rainbow Dash bait repainted with a mix of Ceramcoat and Folk Art acrylics. The first time she was rerooted it was with Phalto Blue which is so gorgeous a color I NEED to find something to do with it, this time she was rerooted in Pacific Ocean which...it's such a weird color! It changes shades and depth of color in different light. Sometimes it looks exactly like the color Gloomy has in her drawing, sometimes it's darker, sometimes it's more blue, sometimes it's more teal. It's really interesting and so pretty! I tried to get different shots to compare the changes in color but lighting was not working for me today.
