Prompt: Who Am I?
The boy stood at the very edge of the cliff, wind rushing past him in forceful bursts of energy that rustled his loose clothing. The sun was setting out over the ocean signaling the end of another day. Fingers wrapped around the hard wood of the staff in his hands and his gray eyes slid closed. Deep breath in, slow exhale out. Deep breath in, slow exhale out. He concentrated on the chill that ran down his body when he breathed in and the warm exchange of air when he breathed out. Soon enough his breathing matched the rhythm of the waves caressing the shore down below. It was a slight comfort to be in perfect unison with nature for that brief

Message In A Bottle
Dear You,
There's a very slim moment of time in between the departure of night and the breaking of dawn. It's a time when the earth is as it was when it was created: quiet, calm, unblemished by sounds not provided by nature. For those few moments, however short or long they may be, I can feel every heatbeat of mine fall in tandem with the wingbeats of the seagulls that soar above me. My pulse quickens with each screeching cry they make. As the waves rush toward me I breathe in deep, tasting salt and sand and seaweed with every sense, and breathe out again when the waves roll back into the ocean.
I've been here for awhile now, my toes buri

Crazier Things
She waited in the shadows of the forest, blending in with the night beneath her dark clothing and mossy cloak. Gloved hands clutched her bow tightly and blue eyes blinked patiently behind her leather mask. A man moved through the streets of Nettlestone all but soundless in his hasty steps, unaware he was being watched. He paused outside of the miller's house and pressed his back to the wall, listening. When he felt it was safe he carefully opened the door and slipped inside.
Rising from her crouched position, she pulled an arrow from the quiver on her back and nocked it. She took slow, calculated steps as she circled around the outside edge

Prompt: Almost Lover
*Slight language warning!
It has been at least ten years since he's seen anyone worth remembering. All of those faces, voices, stupid idiotic quirks that had once made them all so important to him are things he wanted to pack away in the recesses of his mind. The problem is that there is already too much in there, too many things he's tried to forget but can't get out of his head. Funny how there had been years of no memory at all and once it all started coming back he just wanted it to disappear. For awhile he'd wanted to disappear. Too bad that wasn't in the cards for him. At least not yet.
Sometimes when he closes his eyes he can still s

The Time Thief
In the corner of the room he sits, teeth grinding, nails scraping, heartbeat thumping.
He knows it won't be long now.
It could happen at any time.
The excitement is excruciating.
In the middle of the room she lay, mouth open, bones twisted, blood slowing.
She feels the moment coming.
It needs to happen soon.
The pain is torturous.
In the silence of her heaving he waits, fists clenched, eyes red, soul dying.
He prays it ends quickly.
It should have already ceased.
The wait is horrific.
The time thief moves closer as my grandmother wheezes beneath the paper thin sheeting of skin that clings to nothing but bone. He is all but invisible as

Only Love Can Make You New pt. 6
It was late in the afternoon by the time Sunset Shimmer arrived back at Scribes' cottage far above Ponyville, under the shadow of Canterlot in the distance. She'd spent most of her day at the small home Lyra and Bon Bon shared, rekindling friendships that had almost been but now were on the path to being real bonds. As they ate the delicious peach pie Bon Bon had made, Sunset discovered all four of her new friends were all so different from each other, and really brought out the best in one another. Lyra was very much in tune with the emotions of all the other ponies in the room, always doing her best to make sure they were happy or, at the

Only Love Can Make You New pt. 5
When she was a filly, Lyra Heartstrings always had a look about her that suggested she was either plotting something, or was in on a joke no one else in the world understood. For that reason, among many others, Sunset Shimmer had an instant disliking for the younger unicorn. She was determined to be the best at everything herself, and that included having the upper hoof on everypony around her. Lyra's constant antics or, at the very least, allusions to antics, always made Sunset uneasy. They'd been forced to room together at school and the amber unicorn was vigilant in keeping an eye on Lyra. She didn't really care what the musical unicorn d
It was quiet in Lady Mary Crawley's room, a blessed reprieve from the voices of her family members all still discussing the horrible events of the day and the health of her father. If only the silence could permeate into her head and block out all the voices in her mind. She was shaken and unsettled, her current state only lending to her agitation. Mary was known for composure and self-control, yet as she raised a hand to take her earrings off, she could see herself shaking. Something inside of her wanted to cry, to weep for the loss of today and the loss her memory kept replaying over and over. She wanted to rage against the urges within her

Writing Prompt: Bucket List Top Ten
It will come as no great surprise to many people that the first thing on my list is to go to Scotland. I don't believe in reincarnation, but if I did, I would say I was Marie de Guise, mother of Mary, Queen of Scots. This woman fought until her very last breath for freedom for her country, and her love for it was so fierce. I have a literal homesickness for Scotland, though I've never been there. It's just a sense that it's where I'm supposed to be, and I long for the day when I can see this dream realized.
Very close behind is seeing actors bring my series to life. I've gotten halfway there with the audio drama that is still happening, albe
